Yin Yoga has the same goals as any other practice of yoga; it targets connective tissues, ligaments, bones, and joints that are not normally exercised in a more active style of asana (posture) practice. Yin Yoga is a perfect compliment to the dynamic and muscular (yang) style of yoga that emphasizes internal heat. We can remain in postures anywhere from one to ten minutes. Yin Yoga works the body differently with more emphasis on the deeper tissues and it will stimulate the connective tissues around your joints and when the stimulus stops, the nurturing takes over making you stronger than before. This yoga is suitable for all levels of students.
